Charles F. Richards, Jr.
Chuck has been practicing law since 1974. Prior to forming his own firm, he was an associate and then a shareholder at a large Phoenix firm. He also practiced criminal and civil litigation for 11 years in Rochester, Minnesota, and was a partner there for five years. He is a diplomat of the National Board of Trial Advocacy and achieved certification as both a Criminal Trial Advocate (1985-1990) and as a Civil Trial Advocate (1990-present). Chuck was the first attorney in Arizona to achieve NBTA certification in both areas of substantive practice. Chuck has also been certified by the National Board of Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy as a Civil Pretrial Practice Advocate (2012-present). He formerly was co-editor of the State Bar of Arizona Trial Practice Newsletter and a member of the State Bar Committee that drafted the standard jury instructions used in Arizona. He has authored numerous articles in various legal publications. He is a seasoned litigator and practices in all areas of insurance and tort litigation, and in select areas of commercial litigation. Chuck’s blend of criminal and civil trial experience has led to his involvement in more than 100 jury verdicts.
In 2014, Chuck celebrated his 20th anniversary of having attained Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating, AV Preeminent, signifying legal abilities of the very highest standard and professional ethics and conduct above question. More recently, in 2015, he was honored to be selected as one of Arizona’s Finest Lawyers.
